I’m pretty proud of my list. Anytime someone visits, its what I send them or reference as I’m building an itinerary. Portland is a place with so much to offer, so its crucial to have this guide, even for myself. Anytime I hear of someone visiting, I yearn to give them my recommendations. I update it regularly as I try new places, and I genuinely love sharing the city in this way, and want people to have the best time. And after 8 years, I think I’ve learned a thing or two.

The list covers a multitude of categories- city sights, shops, art, all the food- brunch, lunch, dinner, coffee, dessert, seasonal events, flower festivals, day trips and hikes I love.

city sights:

Pittock mansion (best view)

Portlandia statue

Laurelhurst park

Forest park

Powell’s books (the largest independent bookstore!)

International Rose test garden

Lan su (where we got married)

Portland Japanese garden

Farmers mkt at PSU

Strip club experience - we have the most in the country! I recommend sassys, casa Diablo or Mary’s

shops:

Mantel, Yo store, Frances may, Woonwinkel, Fine art fruit, Landdd, Urbanite, Wilma world, the good mod

generally good shopping areas- NW 23rd/Alphabet district, Hawthorne for vintage, division, alberta, boise, mississippi
